Foundation Leadership

David Sheils has served as President of the St. Mary’s Medical Center Foundation since July, 2005. Previously, he served eight years as Vice President of Facilities and Support Services at St. Mary’s. He is a graduate of Marshall University (BBA), Xavier University (Master’s in Hospital Administration) and is board certified as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is also a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. A native of Huntington, David is married to Julie Carpenter Sheils and has three children, Anna, Will and Joseph.

Linda Mays joined St. Mary’s Medical Center Foundation in December of 2006 as an assistant to the president, David Sheils. Linda moved to Huntington from Wilmington, North Carolina where she worked as an Executive Assistant at PPD, a global pharmaceutical product development company. Linda is a cancer survivor and is an active supporter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
